Nature/Open Space Park
The Plains Metropolitan District’s Nature/Open Space Park is TEMPORARILY CLOSED to the public while the District undertakes remediation and maintenance efforts. The District asks that individuals remain out of the Nature/Open Space Park for public safety to allow the District to undertake the necessary efforts to re-open. The District will announce the re-opening of the park to the public as soon as a date is available. At this time, the District anticipates re-opening may be as early as the end of 2025 or early 2026.
The District is in the process of preparing a master plan for the nature park. A preliminary concept-level planning presentation is available at the following link: Concept Plan - Deer Creek Nature Park. The District's Board of Directors is still in the process of evaluating the draft concepts within the planning presentation, including scope, costs, and feasibility in determining what improvements are within the best interest of the District and its residents. The foregoing only presents options that have been presented to the District's Board for consideration and will change as the District Board continues to evaluate costs and budgetary constraints in connection with the adoption of a final master plan.
